How to be Gritty Pretty – A Masterclass in Beauty

Eleanor Pendleton, Editor of Gritty Pretty

A little while ago, Leiden Contributor Alenka Csomor put together a list of beauty and fashion blogs we love. One of those blogs was Gritty Pretty, an online destination devoted to beauty, edited by acclaimed beauty writer, Eleanor Pendleton. Founded in 2010, Gritty Pretty aims to inspire and educate women in beauty and skin care with information on products, innovation, and key trends.

Naturally, when we heard that Eleanor Pendleton was coming to the nation’s capital to lead a beauty masterclass at the Canberra Centre, we were more than a little excited. Pendleton has worked as beauty editor at InStyle and Famous magazines, written for Harper’s Bazaar and the Sydney Morning Herald as well as worked with leading beauty brands including Dior, SK-II, Clinique, and Estée Lauder.

Eleanor will be sharing her tips for updating your beauty look, applying winged eyeliner and beating the signs of jet lag as well as her top beauty buys. For those of you who aren’t in Canberra or are busy on the day, never fear you won’t miss out, as we will be sharing all that we learn on site.

We hope to see you there!

Emma Batchelor

As well as a near obsessive interest in fashion, Emma is a former scientist, occasional contemporary dancer, avid reader and self-confessed cat lady (she has three). Emma lived in Leiden in the Netherlands as a baby and Leiden ought to have been her middle name had her mother thought of it at the time and not chosen Louise instead.
