Met Gala – Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology

Each year the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute hosts a Gala event to mark the opening of their latest fashion exhibition. As well as being one of the most exclusive tickets on the New York social scene, the event is a major fundraiser for the Institute. If you are looking to rub shoulders with the hottest designers and celebs, a ticket will set you back a cool $25k.

The exhibition’s theme sets the dress code for the evening with many attendees pushing the envelope with their interpretation. This year we saw hundreds of fashionable guests explore the intersection of fashion and technology inspired by the theme ‘Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology’. The exhibition juxtaposes haute couture and machine made fashion with over 100 pieces on display.

As always the red carpet arrivals were closely scrutinised and many a best and worst dressed list was compiled. We have jumped on the bandwagon and asked Judy Kuo to illustrate some of our favourite looks.
