Old Masters

In art history, the term ‘Old Master’ refers to any painter of skill who worked in Europe before about 1800. It also refers to a painting by such an artist. This creative editorial brings together references ranging from the old masters, to the representation of women throughout history, to our relationship with artificial and constructed environments.   Explore each distinct study        Credits Photography: Elisa Paci / elsapax.wixsite.com / Facebook / Instagram @elisapaciphotographer Hair and Makeup: Lilah Gow / www.lilahgow.com / Facebook / Instagram @lilahgowmakeup Styling and props: Emma Batchelor / Instagram @emma.leiden Model: Samantha Farrow / Instagram @sammyfarrow at Devojka Models / devojka.com.au… Continue Reading

Designer Opshop Emporium – Mixing Modern and Vintage

Is Fyshwick the new Braddon? Given that the # has been used a grand total of six times by the one account, maybe the idea hasn’t caught on quite yet. Fyshwick can, however, count one Braddon expat amongst its ranks, in the newly opened Designer Opshop Emporium. In their new venture, mother and daughter duo Sharyn and Taylor Pitsilos have expanded upon what we came to know and love them for in their Braddon home of five years: a unique mix of modern and vintage. The new Emporium is light, airy, and quite importantly, it’s much larger. Amongst the… Continue Reading

Just imagine if everyone in Australia did that to just one item? In Australia, we generate 6000 kilograms of clothing waste every 10 minutes (ABC TV). Only a comparatively small percentage of what we donate to charity shops gets sold with the rest ending up in landfill. So what… Continue Reading
