Last night we attended the CARDIF Collective Fashion Alley event, an event which brought together a runway show featuring Canberra designers, a silent auction raising money for charity and an art show. If you missed out, here’s what went down. kinderhoonz This childrenswear label designed by Hanna Hoyne uses upcycled materials to create clothes with bold silhouettes and unexpected details. On Monday 13 February, we had the pleasure of attending the Australian National University (ANU) chapter of the Fashion & Beauty Appreciation Society (FABSOC)’s first fashion event of the year. Founded in 2016, FABSOC is dreaming big this year with plans to stage many more fashion events throughout 2017. To get the ball rolling the FABSOC ANU team lead by president Fernando Goh, staged a runway presentation featuring four young designers. Millenial Watches Minimal, affordable… Continue Reading
An Inside Peek into the David Jones Season Launch
Last night, in a very Burberry-esque show space outside St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney, we were treated to the launch of the David Jones Autumn/Winter season. We may not have been important enough guests to see Karlie Kloss (the model flew in to open and close the previous showing before flying out again) but we did see some incredible fashion from both Australian and International designers. And the best part? These see-now-buy-now collections are available in store right now! Shop David Jones

Raw, bold and one-of-a-kind, this show is for those who want a singular experience – a unique ending.’ – Fashfest show notes The final show of Fashfest was quite disparate in that the spirit of Bollywood, colourful sportswear, and skimpy lingerie were brought together alongside tailoring and ready to wear. Fashfest – Friday Night Show Three ‘Praxis’
‘Engage with and explore fashion. Explore how the fashion we wear intertwines with what we do, how it helps us take on the day. This show is for those who use fashion to reflect their life.’ – Fashfest show notes The third show of the Fashfest season presented current collections from well known brands at the Canberra Centre. As these labels follow international and broader national trends, a lot of the same motifs shone through: floaty feminine cuts, bell sleeves, ruffles, pastel colours, bare shoulders, and flat sandals. Cue and Veronika Mane did offer a point of difference… Continue Reading
