Natural Beauty with Lola Berry

We have been lucky enough to experience a number of amazing events at the Canberra Centre since the launch of its new beauty precinct. We’ve been to a Sip and Scent masterclass, a workshop on Minimal Beauty and on Sunday we popped along to hear nutritionist, yogi, TV presenter and author Lola Berry speak on natural beauty and nutrition. As soon as we lined up to receive our delicious smoothie (no doubt made from Lola’s recipes) and take out seat, we noticed a different vibe in the dedicated event space compared to the day before. Lola was casually lounging… Continue Reading

Minimal Beauty with Eleanor Pendleton

Over the weekend we had the pleasure of attending a ‘Minimal Beauty’ masterclass at the Canberra Centre with the founder and director of Gritty Pretty, Eleanor Pendleton. For those who don’t know, Gritty Pretty is an online beauty magazine and e-commerce site. After enjoying the Centre’s new beauty precinct every day since it launched (the joys of being unemployed), I was very keen to try out some of my goodies, including a vivid turquoise cream eyeshadow from 3ina. I built my entire outfit for the day around this eyeshadow, choosing a brightly printed dress that matched it in colour.… Continue Reading

Sip and Scent

This evening we had the pleasure of attending a Sip and Scent Masterclass in the new Canberra Centre beauty precinct. The class, the first of it’s kind we were told, brought together the art of crafting a martini and building a fragrance around the hero ingredients of our bespoke cocktail. After taking our seat in the new dedicated event space, Canberra’s ‘Martini Whisperer’ Phillip Jones prepared each of us a very special drink created especially for the event. ‘When I was asked to create a bespoke martini for the Canberra Centre I knew it had to be beautiful,’ Phillip… Continue Reading

Just Be Wrap Up

A couple Thursday’s ago I had the pleasure of attending the Just Be Revolution Launch at the QT Hotel in Canberra. The Just Be Revolution has been set up by Vicky Kidd-Gallichan as a means of giving people the confidence to be themselves, and to teach everyone not to judge others by their appearance. Just walking into the space at the beginning of the evening was enough to encourage everyone to feel good. The red carpet was laid out for photos, huge letters spelled out L O V E and Paulini was there to welcome everyone into the launch… Continue Reading

Baby Pink Boutique

On Thursday night we braved the cold Canberra weather to attend a very special event at our new favourite boutique Baby Pink. Curated by the team behind one of our other favourite stores, Pink Ink in Braddon, Baby Pink in Deakin is a distinct space of its own. Spread across two long thin rooms, connected in the middle, is a carefully selected edit of quietly luxurious pieces calling out to be touched, tried on and taken home. The space is soft and unobtrusive, just as luxurious as the clothing that resides within it. Baby Pink is home to a… Continue Reading
