The Obligatory First Day of Spring Wardrobe Reflection

Today is the first day of spring. I know you are thinking ‘not another person celebrating the change of season’ but as someone who lives to get dressed, I’m sorry, but I am going to reflect on the sartorial possibilities the warmer weather will bring. Here is what I am looking forward to:

Bare Legs

After months of cocooning my unshaven legs in stockings, I am looking forward to being able to let my legs see the light of day again. I had to go all the way back to April to find a photo of me exposing my gams.

Jackets, not Coats

I have a selection of rather cute little jackets that have languished in my closet for months now, just waiting for their trans-seasonal time to shine. As the weather promises to warm up I am already putting outfits featuring lightweight jackets together in my head.

Colour and Print

I wear colour and print all year round but certain prints (florals, groundbreaking I know) and certain colours (pink) just feel like they are better suited to spring.

Socks and Sandals

Remember months ago when I was into pairing socks and girly shoes? Well the time has come again for me to experiment. A certain pair of metallic socks paired with fluffy slides is calling my name.

Accessories

I find that in winter, because I am so covered up, I rarely wear jewellery. Now, as the layers come off and I expose a little bit of skin, I look forward to decorating myself with my treasures.

Emma Batchelor

As well as a near obsessive interest in fashion, Emma is a former scientist, occasional contemporary dancer, avid reader and self-confessed cat lady (she has three). Emma lived in Leiden in the Netherlands as a baby and Leiden ought to have been her middle name had her mother thought of it at the time and not chosen Louise instead.
