‘Engage with and explore fashion. Explore how the fashion we wear intertwines with what we do, how it helps us take on the day. This show is for those who use fashion to reflect their life.’ – Fashfest show notes The third show of the Fashfest season presented current collections from well known brands at the Canberra Centre. As these labels follow international and broader national trends, a lot of the same motifs shone through: floaty feminine cuts, bell sleeves, ruffles, pastel colours, bare shoulders, and flat sandals. Cue and Veronika Mane did offer a point of difference… Continue Reading

Because it is so voluminous, it’s the perfect coat for wearing over equally voluminous pieces. Plus it makes a great statement.… Continue Reading

Choosing an Outfit for Fashfest
Planning what I am going to wear is one of my favourite parts of attending an event. It’s my favourite part of doing anything really. When I was younger I enjoyed getting ready to go out more than I ever enjoyed the actual ‘going out’ part. In my first grown-up job as manager of a theatre, I developed a particular flair for theming my outfit to whatever show happened to be on. My least favourite thing about studying immunology was wearing a lab coat all day. As you have probably gathered, I particularly enjoy being creative with how I… Continue Reading
