Turmeric is an aromatic powder that has been celebrated in eastern countries for centuries for it’s healing properties and is commonly used as a spice in curries and hot drinks brewed over the stove (namely in India). However the turmeric hot drink has now become equally celebrated in western society, trending in popular cafes around Australia due to the creators of Golden Grind. Golden Grind is a turmeric blend founded by co-owners husband and wife team Tahli and Renwick Watts and sister Sage Greenwood. The group were working together in their own café, Evolve Food Store in Belgrave, where they started making… Continue Reading

Shopping in London
In between visits to cultural institutions, watching Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (amazing) and a few too many visits to the pub, while on holiday in London I have been shopping. And not just a run of the mill trip to the mall shopping, I have been luxury shopping. Well, luxury window shopping for the most part. These are three of my favourite places to visit in London and I think you might like them too. Burberry Regent Street Flagship Not only can you shop the British heritage brand’s largest store, you can also dine… Continue Reading
The Environment – Our Built, Natural and Personal Surroundings
The environment is something we are all familiar with. When we refer to the environment we are referring to our surroundings, everything around us. The environment exists on a macro and micro level. Think about the immediate surroundings like home, work and school, then broaden out to the neighborhood and the entire city where we reside, the country and then the entire planet and beyond. At each level environmental factors impact our health and wellbeing and how we engage with our lives. We humans also have a massive impact on our environment with our choices and actions. There is… Continue Reading
Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner
This is my first time trying out Tarte Amazonian clay liners and I decided to go with the boldest of colours. Let’s just say I had spring/summer on my mind even though we’re in the middle of winter down under. The colours I picked are Fairy wings, a true lilac; Cobalt, a deep marine blue with an ultra fine shimmer, my favourite out of the lot; Sprit Animal, a warm shimmery gold; and White and Goldilocks, a bright sunny yellow! I was extremely excited when these came in the mail recently and didn’t waste any time trying them out… Continue Reading
Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliners & Cream Eye Shadow
These little pots of goodness are a new addition to my makeup kit. I love these creamy jewel toned metallic colours. They are great as eyeliners but personally I prefer to use them as cream eye shadows but either way they look stunning. The colours blend effortlessly with a rich colour pay off and look gorgeous when used as a single colour all over the eyelid or blended with another colour to create beautiful shades. They are so simple to use and come in a wide range of colours suitable from day to evening looks for all skin tones.… Continue Reading
To the Person Having a Crappy Day, Week or Month
To the person having a crappy day, week, or month: embrace the suckiness. I know this sounds counterintuitive. People always say you should do anything you can to cheer yourself up when you feel down. Go for a walk, listen to some upbeat music, hang out with your friends. Just do these simple things and you’ll feel better. But sometimes it’s not that simple. Sometimes you just need to embrace the bad days as much as the good ones. This is something I recently learnt. A few months ago, I went through one of those periods of your life… Continue Reading
The Art of Eyebrow Threading
There is no denying that brows have been having a huge moment for a long time now and that our thirst for full, manicured face-framers isn’t abating anytime soon. We have already talked about some of the ways to maintain them (check out Miriam’s thought on tinting here) but now let’s talk about eyebrow threading. When I first started to pay attention to my eyebrows as a teenager, pencil thin ones were all the rage and this of course required a lot of upkeep. I can still vividly recall the image of one girl in my year 9 science… Continue Reading
