So this morning I rolled out of bed all ready for a fresh day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, what a beautiful day it was going to be!
Then as I walked into the bathroom I caught a glimpse of myself on the mirror. Stopped dead in my tracks, I stared at the ghastly mess of hair on top of my head.
Bad hair day.
Luckily for me I have a huge arsenal of hair product with which I can use to tame the dreaded beast. But it got me thinking about the days before I became a hairdresser with my own personal stockpile of products. Here are the must haves to start your own collection.
Leave in Moisturiser
First of all everyone needs a great leave in moisturiser, there are a few different choices depending on the type of hair you have.
If you have fine to medium hair you can’t go past the Know Knott spray by Australian brand Original & Mineral. With a beautiful peachy smell, it’s great for helping your locks become tangle free. For coarser locks (like my own) the Love Hair Smoother by Italian brand Davines would be a better choice to hydrate dry hair.
What if you use heat tools on your hair? Whenever you use heat to style hair, you must must must protect your precious strands. If you don’t, you run the risk of split ends, dry hair and even breakage.
For fine hair that lacks volume you really must get Atonic by Original & Mineral. With it’s fresh citrus scent it will protect and plump, leaving your locks ready for whatever the day has to throw at it. For all other hair types, Project Sukuroi (again by Original & Mineral) is the holy grail for smoothing the frizz, adding super shine, and protecting your hair whether you use a hair dryer or GHD.
Last but not least, who doesn’t need a bit of hairspray? It doesn’t matter if you use it to give your hair super texture and hold or just to keep your fringe out of your eyes. Davines‘ beautiful Medium Hold Hairspray will do the job. It’s super buildable too! Just spray a little to tame the fuzzies or built it up to hold a Mohawk. This hairspray will leave you looking good and smelling better.
Stay tuned for more on hair and what to do with it.
Until next time!
